Robbrecht Desmet is a filmmaker, photographer and researcher based in Brussels.
His films have been presented at BFI London Film Festival, International Film Festival Rotterdam, Rencontres Internationales, Courtisane Festival, Kurzfilm Festival Hamburg, Brussels Art Film Festival, among others.
Over more than ten years Robbrecht has collaborated with fellow artists, architects and choreographers, directing commissioned films and producing photographic work.
Robbrecht is co-editor of Dirk Lauwaert. Selected Writings, 1983-2008, the first introduction of the seminal writings of a key Belgian writer and critic to an English-speaking audience.
He is currently part of the educational team at the department of Audiovisual Arts at LUCA School of Arts in Brussels, where he works as a researcher and teaches film studies and research seminars.
